Fleet Library at RISD

Digital prints

Identity system including stack signage, logo, book bag and floorplan maps for the Rhode Island School of Design's library. Founded in Providence in 1878, RISD's library is one of the oldest college libraries in the country. In 2006, the library moved down College Hill to its new location in the former Rhode Island Hospital Trust building, and needed a new identity and stack signage system. The library is constantly acquiring new books and rearranging their shelves. We designed a signage system that is extremely flexible and affordable. The library staff use digital templates to create signs as they need them, and then print the signs in-house on a laser printer.
