Digital prints on vinyl
The Metcalf Refectory (known as “the Met”) is the central dining hall for Rhode Island School of Design students and is housed in the same complex as the freshmen dorms. We designed a series of icons that represent many of the different types of foods the Met offers. The icons were printed on vinyl sheets, laminated on board and hung form the ceiling near the appropriate sections of the cafeteria. This hardware solution is extremely affordable and easy to change. The result is a colorful, bright, easy-to-navigate dining environment.
